Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette card

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette

I almost missed this fabulous bundle when the new catalogue came out. I was so in love with the Sweet Soirée bundle that Petal Palette nearly passed me by.

But then I started to see other demonstrators showing what they had made with it, and now I’m hooked. One of the things I love is that there are dies that are extra and don’t match any of the stamps. That gold filigree type element on this card is one, as is the branch, and the label for the sentiment.

So, for this card I also added a stitched framelits circle for the little bird to sit on. I also snipped the branch into two and put one piece behind the circle at the top.

The background DSP is from the Naturally Eclectic pack, and I used one of  the new Petal Pair embossing folders for the strip down the middle. There are two narrow embossing folders in the pack and I have used both a lot already.

Don’t forget that the stamp set and dies are available as a bundle with a 10% discount. Plus you’d have spent enough to get a free item from the Sale-a-bration brochure.

Here’s what I used to make this card. Click on the images to go to the item in my shop – you can order 24/7 from me if you live in France, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany or Austria.

Stampin’ Up! Remarkable You card using Blends Markers

Stampin' Up! Remarkable You card with Blends pens

Oooh, I love this card! I wanted to try out my new Blends pens and thought the Remarkable You stamp set would be a good one to use because the flowers are quite large. I used both the light and dark Pumpkin Pie. I love orange and think this looks great.

I paired it with the Lemon Lime Twist DSP from the Fresh Florals DSP – the orange and green go well together don’t they.

I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp the image on Whisper White cardstock and gave it a minute or two to dry.

It doesn’t matter whether you use use dark pen or light pen first, you can still blend with them. It is easier though if the ink is still wet. It is normal to get some bleed through of the ink so remember to put something under your card.

Then I added gold accents. I’d always choose silver before gold, but this needed a warm gold to complement it.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Best Birds stamp set. I heat embossed it, and while I had the set out I remembered that there was a little bird in the framelits which could sit next to the sentiment. Et voilà finished!

I have another card using Remarkable You and Blends pens for my next post. Be sure to check in and take a look.

Stampin’ Up! New Stampin’ Blends alcohol pens

You may have seen or heard that Stampin’ Up! were releasing some alcholol markers – well you can buy them now! They went live on November 1st.

For now there are 12 colours, each with a light and dark pen, as well as an ivory pen, and bronze pen, and a colour lifter.

These are the colours available, each with a light and a dark colour:

Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate.

Pens are available separately or as a duo. They are not reillable which is why they are being sold individually.

These pens are artist quality and blend beautifully. I have only had a small play with them, but from what little I’ve seen, I’m impressed.

The price point is €5.50 for each pen (€11 for a duo). For artist quality pens that’s a good price.

Stampin’ Up! have made several videos, here’s one to give you an idea of what you can do with them. If you have any questions, please contact me!
