Stampin’ Up! Celebrate You Sale-a-bration card

It’s time for another card for the Daring Cardmakers  – this week’s challenge was to make a card using some masking.

Here’s what I came up with:

Stampin' Up! Celebrate You

I’ve used the flower from the Amazing You stamp set, and the sentiment is from the co-ordinating Celebrate You dies. Both of these sets are in the Sale-a-bration brochure.

I’ve use two lots of masking here. First I masked of the blank strip in the middle using some post it strip. Then I cut out a mask of the flower and used it to stamp the flowers so that the one in the middle looks like it’s in front of the others.

Then I got out my Blends pens to colour in the flowers. I used both the light and dark shade of each colour.

Because there was a little bleeding of the colour I added two black lines to help make the middle look better. I added some foam to the back of the die cut to add some dimension to it.

I did think about adding some sequins or other bling but decided against it, although I may just add some later!

Don’t forget to go to the Daring Cardmakers blog to see what the others have made.

Tomorrow is the Pootler’s Sale-a-bration blog hop, and it’s a big one! Be sure to come back for that one.

  1. Such a lovely card Karen – I’m a big fan of the clean look you get with a strip of tape to mask off space for the greeting. I had similar ink bleeding when I tried this look a while ago with post-it tape so like you used a pencil to hide it! It’s annoying after all that hard work isn’t it? But thank heavens for an easy fix! 😀
